Mockup Frames

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-08-12

Mockup Frames is a Google Slides™ add-on that wraps images on your slides in device frames (phones, tablets, laptops, watches, and browsers). This policy explains what data the add-on accesses, how we protect it, and what we never do.

Data we access

The add-on requests the minimum OAuth scopes needed to do its job. The table below lists every scope, the data it touches, and how that data is protected.

OAuth scopeWhat it accessesHow it is protected
presentations.currentonly (sensitive) Only the single presentation you currently have open — the image you select and the frame + image we write back into that slide. Access is limited to the open document; the add-on cannot see your other files or Google Drive™. Content is processed transiently to complete the action and is never stored by us.
script.container.ui Displays the add-on's sidebar inside Google Slides™. Accesses no presentation content or personal data.
script.external_request Fetches the static device-frame images from our own domain (mockupframes.levitrevisan.com), and sends the anonymous usage events described below to Google Analytics (google-analytics.com). These requests are outbound only, sent over HTTPS, and contain no presentation content, image data, or personal information.

How we protect your data

  • Encryption in transit — All communication between the add-on, Google's servers, and our asset domain uses HTTPS/TLS. Data is never transmitted over unencrypted connections.
  • Transient, in-memory processing — The image you select is read and re-inserted only for the duration of the action you trigger. It is held in memory only as long as needed to complete that operation and is then discarded. No slide content or image is ever written to a database or any persistent store.
  • Your content never leaves Google — Your presentation content and images stay within Google's infrastructure and your browser session. They are never sent to our servers or to any third party. Our outbound requests are limited to two: retrieving static frame images from our own domain, and sending the anonymous usage events described below to Google Analytics. Neither carries your presentation content or images.
  • Scoped, least-privilege access — We request only the scopes above. The presentations.currentonly scope restricts the add-on to the presentation you have open; it cannot access your other documents or Google Drive™.
  • No accounts — We do not create user accounts, and the add-on does not request your email address. The only identifier we keep is the random, account-independent one described under Anonymous usage analytics below.

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand whether the add-on is actually useful, we record a few anonymous usage events with Google Analytics: when the sidebar opens, when a mockup is inserted, and when an insertion fails.

Each event carries a random identifier generated on your first use, and your Google Slides™ interface language. Beyond that, each kind of event carries a little more: opening the sidebar records whether the add-on had to ask you to re-authorise; inserting a mockup records which frame you chose, its device category (phone, tablet, laptop, desktop, browser, or watch) and its colour, which insertion mode you used, and how many days have passed since your first use — the number of days, never the date itself; a failed insertion records the insertion mode and an error code.

Inside the add-on itself, the random identifier and the date of your first use are the only values kept between sessions. They live in Google Apps Script's user properties for this add-on, under your own Google account — not in a database of ours, and we cannot read them outside the add-on. A short-lived session identifier is also held in Apps Script's cache, expiring after 30 minutes of inactivity. The random identifier is not linked to your Google account, your name, or your email address. Removing the add-on revokes its access, so no further events are sent.

We never send the contents of your slides, your images, or your email address to Google Analytics.

What we never do

  • We never read your presentations beyond the action you request.
  • We never store your images or presentation content on our servers.
  • We never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
  • We never use your Google user data to train, develop, or improve generalized or non-personalized AI and/or machine-learning models.
  • We never send the contents of your slides, your images, or your email address to our analytics.

Data retention and deletion

We keep no database of users or content: your slides and images are processed transiently and are never stored by us. Two things are kept. The anonymous analytics identifier and first-use date described above live in Google Apps Script's user properties under your own account, not on our servers. The history of the anonymous usage events themselves is held in our Google Analytics property for the retention period configured there, keyed to that random identifier and to nothing else — it contains no slide content, no images, and no way to reach your Google account. If you stop using the add-on, you can remove it at any time from Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons in Google Slides™, which revokes its access. Questions about data handling can be sent to us via the Support page.
